About the role

We are looking for a versatile CyberSecurity Engineer who wants to expand their expertise in security research and fraud-related knowledge. This role combines various skill sets, from web security through network-related expertise and data analysis to programming skills. In this role, you will get the possibility to introduce new technical antifraud features in the entire R&D cycle (idea➞research➞implementation➞deploy➞monitoring). We look for a problem solver who likes to make things happen.

 

Fraud Intelligence is a team that connects Nethone with frauds.

  • We use feedback from customers and data and internal research as input and generate ideas and solutions that improve detection.
  • We research methods used by fraudsters and find weak points in their modus operandi
  • We are creating new solutions used for fraud detection based on the customers’ data/feedback mixed with the team’s expertise
  • We were brainstorming next-generation detection solutions capable of covering multiple fraud use cases. It mixes technical knowledge, fraudster modus operandi, and data capabilities
  • Diving deep into the technologies used by fraudsters - sometimes reverse engineering, deep data analysis, finding blind spots, and following new changes
  • Ideas are often forged into Proof of Concept (PoC) that verifies the initial assumptions. In some cases, however, the change might require support from other teams
  • Everything changes - fraudsters, tools, and technology - this is why minor tweaks and adjustments are usually needed after we apply the solution to the operational data. We also review the answers over time to stay ahead of the fraudsters in the race for detection

What will you be responsible for?

  • Creating of ideas for new technical ways of detecting fraud
  • Initial research of the proposed concept
  • Creating of PoCs that you will test on real traffic
  • Making PoCs production-ready features
  • Monitoring already released PoCs to maintain quality in the constantly shifting world of fraud and browser security
  • There is no limit if you want to dig deeper. Fancy some reverse engineering? Sure. Want to look into the data from another perspective? You got it. Find your perfect spot to protect the users of the Internet.

What do we expect from you?

  • At least three years of relevant experience (Sec Engineer, Developer within a commercial product environment, etc.)
  • Good command of Python
  • Basic JavaScript skills
  • Understanding how computer networks work and the architecture of the Internet
  • Knowledge of browser and internet security
  • Tinkering mindset
  • Willingness and ability to work from idea through implementation to analysis and communication of results
  • Nice to have:
    • Low-level knowledge of how operating systems (Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS, Android) work
    • Understanding of database systems
    • Experience with PostgreSQL
    • Experience handling non-trivial traffic volume and data set
    • Experience in malware analysis and code deobfuscation
    • Experience in developing fingerprinting techniques
    • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
    • Ability to lead quality technical discussions and brainstorming sessions
    • Previous experience in an R&D position
    • Understanding and practical knowledge of machine learning
